Ok. Just finished playing PROTOTYPE 2. Enjoyed it a great deal. Wouldn't say its award winning but still good. I can easily see they simply ported over a lot of the games mechanics from the first one due to Heller's attacks with his blade or claws, but that's an easy overlook. Graphics are a slight step up, but again nothing award winning. I like the new look to BLACKWATCH soldiers. They looked pretty awesome. Especially the pilot's outfit. Gives me some design ideas. >:3 My only gripe besides plot holes was there is no armor ability so far. It looks like it will be a DLC, cause I've seen concept art and there is a spot in the game's menu fir a dlc that shows Heller in an armored form. Why I have to wait to the end of May is beyond me.

Heller was pretty cool, though every two words that came out of his mouth was a curse. Was playing with my nephew in the room and Heller dropped the MF bomb so many times, my nephew got excited when I blew up some tanks and shouted "mother F*cker!" Needless to say I was not too happy with him. I mean, they made Heller out to be a stereotypical angry black man who through a curse out every two seconds. I did enjoy though some of his comments through some parts of the story. Some were hilarious.

His drive was good too. While he had a drive of revenge against Mercer for the death of his family, much similar to how Mercer had a drive of revenge for what happened to him, Heller did somewhat change in attitude when he learned his daughter was alive. So that made up a huge difference between the two.

Though it is explained in the comic to what causes Mercer's change in behavior from how he was in P1, I didn't so much like it. No, he wasn't a hero in the first one. Hardly even anti-hero. He simply was seeking revenge and that was all. But he showed he cared for his sister. Another plot hole I may get to later. But the way they set it up in the first was that he was destined to confront Pariah, the son of Elizabeth Greene. And now he's defeated and consumed by James Heller, a man who wanted nothing more then to avenge his family/save his daughter. I mean, with the memories of Alex Mercer now his, he knows or should know about Pariah and the dangers that he possesses but he has no real drive to go and face this unknown being. Unless BLACKWATCH decides to come and snatch up Heller's daughter and he goes ape shit on them again.

In a since I think Mercer wanted to die, but couldn't afford to leave the world without someone strong enough to face the horrors that BLACKWATCH was creating. Cause we have to remember, he's not even really Mercer. He's the Blacklight virus that consumed and reanimated the body of Alex Mercer. So I can see why he'd given up on humanity, being that he's never truly experienced it or lived an entire life. He's consumed the thoughts and emotions of others but never really developed them for himself. So he sees the horrors that man can produce and come to a conclusion that humanity isn't worth saving. Or in my opinion, not worth living with. I mean, if he was so hell bent on destroying humanity, wouldn't he have killed his sister, Dana Mercer, who magically awoke from her coma before P2? Maybe. Instead, she's awake and aiding Heller at a halfway point in the game, and is still alive and assumingly uninfected by Mercer or the Blacklight virus from P1 or P2.

I don't know, its just me. I mean if he did all that destruction just have all his powers consumed by Heller for some epic battle in the future with Pariah, couldn't he have gone about it in a different way? I really liked Mercer. It sucks that he's now gone, or a part of Heller. I had hoped he really wasn't the villain and that somehow Pariah was, but that isn't the case. And with the question asked by Dana "So what's next?", what is next? With the virus completely gone thanks to Heller's tentacle rape of the city that completely destroyed all traces of it, what will our new foul mouthed father figure hero do? Obviously can't go back to a normal life. His face and name were broadcast all over BLACKWATCH and military channels, and most likely most wanted list, so flipping burgers on the grill with a biomass created spatula isn't going to happen. And his daughter Maya certainly isn't going to have a normal life either, considering the hell she's been through. I guess Dana could try and be a surrogate mother figure for Maya, or at least Heller wouldn't have a problem with it considering she's the only person he can trust. Everyone else is either dead or betrayed him in some form or other.

Either way, good game. I give it a 7.5 out of 10. I plan to play it some more to get the achievements done, and I want that damn armor. Mercer's armor inspired me in some ways, so I want to see Heller's to get some more ideas. Supposedly there's this big hush hush DLC that's coming out that no one knows anything about. Guess we'll have to wait and see. You're thoughts?
